The next day, community source OverwatchNaeri confirmed the numbers on X, and the Overwatch world erupted. Some celebrated cleaner lobbies. Others, like me, stared at a termination screen wondering what the hell just happened.

I’m a support main. Level 287. I’ve been playing since 2016. My weekly KD on the newest hero was a blistering 1.01 — yes, you read that right. I’m the guy who gets gold healing, not gold elims. So when I saw the ban message, I laughed. Then I panicked. Then I appealed.

The appeal response was brutal: “Evidence of unauthorized third-party program usage was found.” Case closed. No further explanation. No chance to defend myself. Just a digital death sentence for an account I’d poured thousands of hours into.

They interact with the anti-cheat in ways that mimic actual cheat programs. And here we are again. Blizzard hasn’t commented on player claims of false bans, but the community is furious.

A copy-paste message. “Unauthorized third-party program usage.” No specifics. No chance to remove the offending software and get unbanned. Just gone.

What frustrates me most is the lack of transparency. If HyperX NGENUITY is the problem, tell us. If OBS is triggering false positives, warn the community. Instead, Blizzard stays silent while thousands of innocent players lose their accounts. I’ve seen this movie before. In 2023 and 2024, similar ban waves flagged programmable mice and keyboard software. Each time, Blizzard quietly reversed some bans after massive backlash. Will that happen now? Maybe. But the damage is done. My account is terminated. My trust in Blizzard is shattered. And I’m left wondering: if a level 287 support main with a 1.01 KD can get banned for using a HyperX keyboard, who’s safe?

Here’s what I want from Blizzard:
